Medysn beginswith the patient.

Our approach

The patient is
our starting point.

Medysn (pronounced “medicine”) is an early-stage life sciences company exploring new therapies and therapeutic technologies for conditions with unmet treatment needs.

We start with the individual: what they experience, what affects their daily life, and where current care falls short. Those observations guide the therapeutic questions we explore through scientific evidence and collaboration.

  1. 01

    Listen to the patient.

Start with the individual’s experience and the symptoms or treatment gaps that affect daily life.

  2. 02

    Follow the evidence.

Translate those observations into a defined therapeutic question, informed by the available scientific evidence.

  3. 03

    Define the next step.

Consider the expertise, clinical feasibility, and resources needed to evaluate the concept.

Current work

Neuromodulation for appetite-related symptoms.

Our founding concept began with a patient need: persistent appetite-related symptoms and nausea.

Medysn’s founder-developed protocol explores transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation, or taVNS, as a potential therapeutic approach.

Proposed clinical research

The research question
Evaluate potential effects on appetite-related symptoms and nausea.
Intended initial population
People experiencing cancer-associated cachexia.
Next step
We are working toward a pilot study to evaluate the concept.

Research interests

Areas we’re
exploring.

Patient needs guide the opportunities we explore across related areas of biology. These interests are areas of exploration, rather than active development programs.

Neurological & autonomic disorders
Questions involving the nervous system and the regulation of involuntary bodily functions.
Gastrointestinal function & nutrition
Patient needs related to gastrointestinal function, appetite, and nutrition.
Mental health & neurodevelopment
Therapeutic questions across mental health and neurodevelopment.
Bone & spine disorders
Unmet needs in conditions affecting bone and spinal health.
Cardiovascular disease
Opportunities in cardiovascular health, considered through the lens of patient need.
Oncology & cancer-related complications
Cancer-related complications, including the appetite-related symptoms that inform Medysn’s founding concept.

The origin of Medysn

The experience
behind Medysn.

Medysn was founded by Dylan Cloud following his experience living with complex chronic conditions and navigating fragmented care.

Persistent appetite-related symptoms led him to develop Medysn’s first neuromodulation concept. His experience continues to shape the therapeutic questions Medysn explores.
